About me

Safe Body, Safe Mind

My name is Raisa. I am a queer individual, trained in Thai massage and intuitive massage to provide relaxation.

I believe in touch. Touch is something we as humans need and crave. Touch can be healing and give us the necessary emotional releases. To truly enjoy and receive touch, a safe environment is needed.

I am hoping to provide a safe environment for queer individuals. An environment where massage is not a transaction, but rather an exchange between people. I want it to not just be a luxury item, but a most human moment of self-care.

My massages are an energy exchange based on respect and trust. It is important for me to ask your pronouns and go into dialogue about what your body needs and what areas of your body I should perhaps avoid or which areas need extra attention. By taking the time to get to know you, your identity and needs, I am hoping to provide a safe and healing touch, which grounds you into your body.

  • Respect

Respect for one another is vital to a good massage. I will ask you about your pronouns, your needs and limitations. I respect the art of massage, meaning I will not rush the massage and always ask for your consent and approval.

  • Safety

I will welcome you in. I will offer you a drink and we have time for a little chat. I hope to understand more about you, concerns or hopes you have before we get started.

FAQ

Can we book you for an event?

Yes, I have a special price and massage list for events. Please send an email to queer.massages@gmail.com with your information and details about the event

Accesibillity?

Unfortunately, there is no elevator present in the building. However, I can offer at home massages. I will need to add some costs for transport. I am hoping to improve on accessibility as soon as possible.

Where did you learn massage?

I have always had a personal interest and my intuition has always guided me in giving massages to friends and family. Recently, I travelled to Thailand to learn more about pressure points, positioning and techniques.

Is there a cancellation fee?

No, there is not! For me this has always felt like a major obstacle for booking something. However, I appreciate a 24 hour heads up, if possible :)

Where are you located?

I am located in Amsterdam East, right next to Science Park station. In the confirmation of the booking, I will provide the full address! I can, if necessary, provide massages at home too. I will need to add some transportation costs.

The massage I want is not mentioned?

Before every massage, I am hoping we can chat a little bit about your needs. This way, we can adjust the massage as needed for you. The body part categories mentioned, are just there to help give direction, but please know it is flexible :)

I am not queer, can I still book a massage?

Yes, you 100% can. I want to create a safe space for queer people to receive a massage. While this is my focus, it is a safe space for all human beings and I hope everyone feels welcome to come and book a massage.

I want regular massages, is there a special price?

Yes, if you are hoping to come regularly (every week, every two weeks, every month, every two months), I am happy to provide a reduced price which works for the both of us. Contact me to discuss :)

I am nervous for a first session...

Nerves are very understandable. Massage is very personal and intimate. Please know we can always text or call to talk through some the of the things that make you nerves. I want to make sure you can feel as comfortable as possible.

I have an injury. Can I get a massage?

Yes! Please let me know about the injury you have and I will make sure to treat this area carefully.

Do you work with a sliding scale?

Yes, I understand that not everyone has the same funds. I want to make sure everyone can receive the healing and relaxation they crave. Please do contact me and let us try and find price that works for you.

What should I wear?

I advise wearing some loose fitting clothes without too many zippers and buttons. I can massage you while you are dressed and I can understand how this may be preferred by some people. If you come in wearing something loose fitted, we can decide in the moment what may best suit your needs at that time.

What are your opening times?

My schedule is flexible and therefore changes per week. I am always available multiple times a week though. You can check under bookings my current open slots!

How can I pay for the session?

I accept both cash and a bank transfer/tikkie :)

It is so wonderful to find a masseuse that understands the complexities of inhabiting a queer body. To enter a space that was immediately welcoming, relatable and safe allowed me to for the first time enjoy a massage. I was able to share about nerve damage received during surgery and they were very careful and sensitive to my hesitation and insecurity around that area. Raisa is not only in an amazing massager who targeted and released a ton of built up tension, but also a lovely and warm presence who makes that release and relaxation feel easy and safe. I cannot recommend them enough! thanks again for a great experience :)

I have had some experience with massage, because my back used to give me some troubles. Usually those massages are quite transactional, I appreciate them and it helps with my back. But this time, it was different, I had a calming feeling most of the time and it increased more towards the end, during the massage I remember thinking that I really felt that someone was taking care of me and my body. It was not a strong massage, it was more like the right pressure in the right places. I strongly recommend queer.massage you won't regret!

As a transgender person, I've never felt comfortable to have a professional massage done in a conventional setting, so when I got the opportunity to try it for the first time in my life in a place that is welcoming to everyone, where I could feel safe as a queer trans person, was really a refreshing experience.
The combination of different techniques, gentle and harder massaging, on different parts of the body made me both relaxed and amazed by sensations I haven't felt before. Surprising was how much tension I was able to let go, which was especially useful being only days away from a very exciting but also stressful surgery. The neck and face massage were something I was unfamiliar with but very happy to have the pleasure of discovering, so good!

Thank you for helping me release some post top surgery tension from my chest! It was really special to have someone massage my scars and help me to feel a bit more at home in my body again.

The massage was absolutely incredible! The pressure points used really helped release tension and helped my body relax. Raisa was extremely thoughtful in the way in which she worked through the body and created an atmosphere where I could really melt and receive the care from the massage. I left feeling rejuvenated, energized and soft and nourished. I would wholeheartedly recommend.

This was my first time receiving a massage. I always felt uneasy by the idea of a random person touching my body. But when I came across Queer massage I saw this as an opportunity to finally experience this. I felt less anxious knowing it would be a queer friendly environment. Throughout the whole experience I felt very safe, which made that I could fully relax and let go. I will definitely come back to Raisa for my second massage experience.

Through Raisa’s touch, I was able to connect on a deeper level with my body. Not only did she release tension in my body, but I was also able to release some unprocessed emotions. You know it’s a safe space when you don’t even notice that you’re crying. An experience I can highly recommend.
